Stanwood and her team reached the Section Finals during her freshman year as well as when she was in eighth grade. During her sophomore season, she helped lead her team to State for the first time in 43 years. The outside hitter once registered 28 kills in a four-set match. During Stanwood's senior year, she recorded 408 kills and 293 digs. Over the course of her high school career, she has accumulated 866 kills and 662 digs. Her uncle, Michael Salak played both professional and collegiate volleyball, while her mother Cristina is an alumna of Stony Brook.
